Liebenswerter Freund!
Ich gelangte soeben in den Besitz Deiner lb. Karte. Habe im Geschäft immer fest zu tun, und dann was Liebchen noch immer nach Burgstädt/Sa. zu schreiben. Mir geht es momentan gesundheitlich recht gut, und hoffe selbiges auch von Dir. Werde zu Weinachten zu Kellers nach Osterode mal wieder eine Karte senden. Hatte seit Sommer nichts mehr von Ihnen gehört, auch nichts mehr von Martha, doch ich habe ja wissenhaft Ersatz dafur gefunden. Werde diese Weihhnachten in Burgstädt verleben und zu Ostern wiederzu Hause.

I am now the owner of your lovely card. I always have a lot to do in the store, and then I always have to write to my love in Burgstädt/Sachsen. At the moment I am very well, and I hope the same for you. I will write at Christmas to Kellers at Osterode. I haven’t heard anything from them since last summer. Also I have not heard anything from Martha, but I have found a replacement for her. I am going to spend Christmas in Burgstädt this year, and for Easter I am going home.

While I didn't find a modern equivalent to this scene, I did find out that this region is wine country. The people in the forground are preparing the spikes for the vines to grow up on.
